And I have been writing dating advice for a while now, so I like to think I know a little something about romance and relationships too. With those accomplishments in my portfolio, I am kind of the perfect person to identify the world’s most romantic movies that are a must-watch.

Now, I haven’t seen every movie ever made, but from what I’ve seen in my 28 years, these are sure to evoke some feelings and maybe even some tears.

I’ve included everything from the classics to romantic comedies, the lesser-known indie movies, tragic love stories, and just some of my personal favorites.

They will go down in history and for good reason. And, I’ll bet you haven’t seen them all, so now is the time.

#1 Gone With The Wind. This epic Civil War drama follows Scarlet O’Hara’s life on a plantation. It details her struggles, love affairs, and her character growth from tragedy and romance.

#4 Sense and Sensibility. It wouldn’t be a list of romantic movies without some Jane Austen. Inspired by her novel, this movie starring Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet, and Emma Thompson tells the story of a family’s financial struggles along with Marianne and Elinor’s desires to marry for love, but it isn’t that simple.

#5 Titanic. This tragic love story may be loosely based on a real tragedy but the love story is that of epic romantic fiction.
